NPR Welcomes A New Staff Member!

Meet Kristen Baus, the newest addition to the Nonprofit Resources team.

Here’s what you need to know about Kristen:

Q. So far, what do you love most about working for NPR?

I love all of the amazing opportunities that it comes with and there are always new people to meet from all over.

Q. What associations or projects have you been with?

I have been mainly working for HPIP, I have also worked with SPFA and South Dakota Hall of Fame. I’ve done newsletters, membership management, and even helped create an app for the SPFA Show –  very cool!

Q. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Definitely mint chocolate chip. Not sure why, it’s just always been my favorite!

Q. If you could start your own nonprofit, what would it be and what would you call it?

I have actually thought of an idea after helping at my previous job; every year before the holidays we donate brand new beds to children who might have to share a bed or sleep on the couch or floor. I was thinking it would be a fun a idea to let people donate presents to  family’s who can’t afford any. I think I would call it Santa’s Workshop.

Q. If you could travel anyplace in the world, where would it be?

I think I would choose Germany. I love history and it would be amazing to see where my family name originated from.

Q. Did you make any New Years resolutions?

I didn’t. I know…I’m lame. I never end up following through with any of them anyways, but I did tell myself I was going to graduate in May from LATI with a 4.0, so fingers crossed!
