The Importance of Social Media Presence

These days, you need to have all your bases covered to have an online presence in the professional world. According to Forbes, social media is becoming a necessity, not a luxury for associations and businesses.

There are over one hundred different thriving social media sources, but that’s not to say you need to exist on every one. Here are your vital three social media sources you and your business or association can’t live without.

Facebook

There are over 1.3 billion users on Facebook, making it the largest of any social network. On average each user follows nearly 80 pages, groups, or events and you should be one of them. Keep everyone updated on events, post photos or videos, or share funny memes with your network.

Twitter

Using 140 characters or less, Twitter it’s the simple and easy solution to connect with your followers. Tweet links, create polls, and use it as an effective channel for customer service. Interact with a wider audience by mentioning other users and using hashtags. #TwitterIsImportant

LinkedIn

A top social media network, LinkedIn is the place for users to reach out and connect with the professional online world. You can customize your news feed to keep updated on your industry and connect with your target market.

Along with the vital three (if you’re feeling even more ambitious) other relevant social media sources include Pinterest, Google +, YouTube, Instagram, and Tumblr.
