The Nonprofit Resources team is deeply saddened by the reports of hate crimes and incidents against Asian Americans. New data has shown that anti-Asian hate incidents are on the rise, including the targeting of Asian American elders and women. While details about the shooting of multiple Asian American women in Atlanta are still being confirmed, we recognize that there is a growing sense of fear and uncertainty within the Asian community in the United States and globally.

According to Stop AAPI Hate’s 2020 national report, there have been 3,795 reported incidents between March 19, 2020 and February 28, 2021, and women report hate incidents 2.3 times more than men. We understand that this only scratches the surface of discrimination that Asian Americans may face since many incidents go unreported.

The latest attacks exacerbate the fear and pain the Asian American community continues to endure. Nonprofit Resources is proud of the growing diversity within our team and our client organizations.  We recognize that diverse experiences and backgrounds drives our mission of helping nonprofits succeed, regardless of success in a variety of fields and environments.

We look forward to our internal Diversity Task Group developing resources and action steps for our company, clients, and network to put words into action. For now, we are proud to add our voices to #StopAAPIHate.
